CUT Computer is located in the Central Coast Long Jetty NSW Australia, which is situated in a delicate area. One of our company projects is to contribute to the environment since we started the business.

We feel there is no need for people to pay a fee to get rid of their waste as many people would be reluctant to pay for that kind of service. We offer to take in IT, electrical equipment, batteries and ink cartridges/toners and burden the costs. We only accepting drop offs at the Long Jetty NSW branch at the moment.

We have closely monitored the European standards and support products that apply to those standards i.e. RoHS and CCCs approved. If a product does not comply with the European requirements that product cannot be sold in Europe, we would like to see a similar policy adapted in Australia.

Insurance companies are one of the biggest culprits whereby they leave it to the person who makes a claim to dispose of the assets which actually belongs to the insurance company after the claim has been made. They do not make an effort on advising their client on how to best dispose of the equipment, as a result the item ends up in landfill which as many of us know can be very toxic.

Every year CAT Computers recycles about 12 tones of equipment and the numbers are increasing. We have found many counterfeit products which do not stand up to the standards and could be a major health hazard. One of them been cadmium plating which is illegal in most parts of the world and very toxic.

The recycled goods mostly end up getting materials extracted and melted down or via Australian customs end up getting exported to allocated countries making sure they dispose of the items correctly, one of them been, it is cheaper and viable to repairing the equipment for further use in those countries.

The cheaper the products become the easier they become a disposable item, we would like to see a surcharge implemented for the appropriate disposal of that item, this avenue is wide open at the moment. We are offering everyone to support this fragile environment by recycling unwanted equipment and can drop off unwanted equipment at our Long Jetty NSW branch.

There is a lot of parking behind Auto One Long Jetty NSW for the drop off. Please do call before dropping off and for large quantities bookings are recommended.
